Tisna Sanjaya - Cigondewah, Bandung

I am writing an essay on Tisna Sanjaya’s project in Cigondewah, Bandung, for Singapore Architect (its next issue is on sustainability), above a few photos I took in Cigondewah that I do not submit to the magazine. Commenting on Cigondewah in southwest Bandung, Tisna Sanjaya says that prosperity is for some and private but pollution public. Moral hazard is toxic... In the case of Cigondewah, we can claim that a more sustainable city is a more just city. Tisna Sanjaya's public art in Cigondewah is a form of urban politics: he calls for poetic justice, which requires imagination and compassion (mixed with a good sense of humor so not to despair).
