The ARISAN Project

For the purpose of this long-durational project, we define ARISAN as a cluster of activities intersecting and interacting with space and people in Taman Sari Valley, Bandung, Indonesia. The interactions and collaborations between artists, anthropologists and locals result in several episodes showing critical engagement with different issues relevant to the geography Jalan Taman Sari - Jalan Wastu Kencana - Jalan Cihampelas - Jalan Siliwangi.

When all episodes are conducted, a group exhibition will be organized.

And these three will each head a group of anthropologists to collaborate with artists and/or to conduct independent research. When all episodes are conducted, a publication of writings will be prepared.
